Ashley Lidgard, owner and MD of Oak Ridge Hotels is very hands on in all areas of the hotel, whether it be running the business itself or serving drinks behind the bar to his customers. Ashley is a true entrepreneur, purchasing our sister hotel, The Brackenborough from his father, John Lidgard, after learning the business inside-out from an early age. Ashley then went on to acquire, expand and transform a small village pub into what has since become... The Ashbourne!
Amie is a long-standing member of the team, having risen up through the ranks, whilst juggling work life with a business degree. Having been involved on several key development projects at both hotels, as well as stint as Ashley's PA,and having a close eye on the accounts...what Amie doesn't know, isn't worth knowing.
Andrew entered the hospitality industry via the Royal Navy as a Junior Steward in the late 1970’s. After retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 2003, Andrew remained firmly in the hospitality sector with various management roles before taking the reins at the Ashbourne in 2007. Andrew oversees all operational aspects of the Ashbourne including bar, restaurant, housekeeping and staffing. Andrew is very hands on and you will frequently see him working alongside his enthusiastic team in the bistro, bar and reception.
Amanda started at The Ashbourne Hotel as receptionist as a university graduate. Amanda then rapidly progressed on to our sister hotel, The Brackenborough as a Reception Supervisor. After a spell as Reception Manager elsewhere, Amanda came “full circle” back to The Ashbourne where she now heads up the strong reception team, as well as being Andrew's second-in-command. Amanda is also the first point of contact for conferences and corporate clients, offering professional advice and tailoring packages and rates to suit individual requirements.
Rob has a wealth of experience working in hotels, and as our ever-popular wedding co-ordinator he oversees weddings at the Ashbourne from first point of contact, right through to the big day itself. Rob will be on hand throughout the process to take all the potential stress out of the event, leaving the happy couple totally free to enjoy their celebrations. Rob also assists Andrew in the day to day running of the hotel.
John brings with him some solid experience to the Ashbourne, having worked at a large hotel in the area for 11 years. Starting as a commis at 16, he also then went on to work at other hotels within the group, with roles ranging from chef de partie to head chef. John's experience comes from not only the wide range of roles he's worked in the kitchens, but also from the varied catering styles - from small private dinners, to banqeuting for 350, he takes it all in his stride. Added to which he maintained rosette standard for 3 years, so prepare to be wowed by his menus and food as much as we are!
